Love hires Ben Akers as creative director, advertising

Love has appointed Ben Akers, former creative director of Chief Productions, to the role of creative director, advertising.

Prior to joining Chief Productions Akers spent six years in Australia where he was part of the original Droga5 Sydney team and held the role of creative director at both Y&R and Republic of Everyone. Before moving to Australia he also spent time with Mother, HHCL and BBH.

Akers said Love had “long been an agency I’ve been impressed by for its strong portfolio of clients and creative”.

The role sees Akers tasked with handling the agency’s advertising and content output across its client base, reporting to Love founder and executive creative director David Palmer.

Of the appointment Palmer said: “I’ve been following Ben’s career for a while and have consistently been blown away by his creative talent. We’re growing at a rapid pace and Ben’s arrival will help broaden our creative offering to clients.”

Akers added: “Dave and Trevor set down an ambitious challenge for me. Never one to shy away from such an invite, I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and making a difference.”

Over his 15-year career Akers has won numerous industry awards and has worked across a wide span of sectors on brands including Barclays, Virgin, Audi, British Airways, Puma and Toyota.

He relocated to Manchester last year.
