DesignStudio has appointed former creative director of Moving Brands Stuart Watson to the role of executive creative director.

Watson, who has worked on a variety of high profile brands such as Sky, The Times and Lexmark throughout his 15-year career, will work to strengthen DesignStudio's design offering.

Co-founder and CEO of DesignStudio Paul Stafford said: "This [new hire] continues our policy of employing the best creative talent in the world and looks to strengthen the already strong team in London and San Francisco and ensure that we continue to innovate, learn and deliver work that is of the highest possible creative standards.”

Watson is also a guest lecturer at Nottingham Trent University and a keen advocate of developing new talent in the industry. Discussing the gap between education and the design industry Watson said: “Often there is a disconnect between the education process and what is expected in the industry.

"I believe that a lot more needs to be done from both sides to rectify this and prepare students for the industry.”

DesignStudio counts Airbnb, Nutmeg, Head and Microsoft among its clients.
