M&C Saatchi reports 17% profit spike for 2014

M&C Saatchi has reported a 17 per cent increase in profit for 2014 to £17,143,000 following a 5 per cent increase in revenue for the year that brought in accounts with PepsiCo, Oxfam, John Lewis, Landrover and Microsoft.

Revenue in the UK rose by 9 per cent with direct agency Lida and M&C Mobile having been picked out by chairman Jeremy Sinclair as having performed well, while European revenue grew by 15 per cent. Australia, which lost the David Jones account, saw its revenue fall by 6 per cent for the year however this was buoyed by wins with Lexus, IAG and Cricket Australia, Sinclair continued to explain.

Chief executive, David Kershaw described 2014 as “another excellent year of progress” for the agency.

“Our strategy of consistent growth through winning new business and starting new businesses continues to deliver good results. We have invested and upgraded and now feel we have the network span and depth of capabilities with which we can significantly develop our international client portfolio. We are confident we will continue to make good progress in 2015 and beyond,” he added.

Account billings for the year was revealed to be £333,302,000, while acquisitions for the year included Lean Mean Fighting Machine and social monitoring agency, Human Digital.
