Louis Walsh has suggested that he will not return for the next season of The X-Factor, saying he is “done” with the show after sitting on the judging panel for the past 11-years.

Speaking on The Seven O'Clock Show, Walsh explained: “'I've done 11 seasons and that's a long time in television - I don't think I'll be going back.”

Walsh added that he would “really have to think about it” if asked by Simon Cowell, the show’s creator, to change his mind.

“I want to go back to being a manager - that's my day job and I've neglected it for a long time because I'm away so much. I’d like to get back to where I started off… I never even wanted to be on TV, it just happened,” he said.

It follows the resignation of veteran host Dermot O’Leary, who announced he would not return to the ITV programme earlier this year. Walsh also hinted that fellow judge Cheryl Cole might not return.

“I think they are going to change the show. I think they are going to get new faces. I know Dermot is gone - and I don't know who else will be back. Simon will probably be back because it's his show. Cheryl [Cole]... I'm not sure. I don't know who else will be back.”
