PepsiCo’s Mountain Dew is bringing back its most requested flavor ‘Baja Blast’ along with citrus punch flavor ‘Sangrita Blast’ for a limited time only this year.

The drinks will be available nationwide in bottles and can this spring and summer, beginning April 20.

The tropical lime ‘Baja Blast’ was first unveiled exclusively at Taco Bell 11 years ago. It’s the second largest and fastest growing beverage sold at the fast-food chain and has generated more than $1bn in retail sales since its introduction.

‘Sangrita Blast’ has only been sold at Taco Bell. This marks the first time it will be bottled and canned.

Greg Lyons, vice president of marketing for Mountain Dew, said: “Mountain Dew has always been committed to having ongoing conversations with our loyal fans and really listening to what they want. After seeing the excitement DEW Nation had with last year's surprise announcement of Mtn Dew Baja Blast coming to shelves, there was no question we had to bring it back."

The company claims that once all of the bottles and cans have been sold, that will be it. However, the drinks will still be sold at participating Taco Bell restaurants.

NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. tweeted about the drink on Wednesday (8 April):
