Lyft, the popular ride-sharing app, has hired Rex Tibbens, a former executive at Amazon, as its new chief operations officer (COO).

While at Amazon, Tibbens served as the vice president of logistics in North America and was responsible for overseeing the Prime Now program – which aims to deliver packages to consumers within an hour. Before that, he held posts at both Dell and Toyota.

“To me, Lyft is about two key experiences: the passenger experience and the driver experience,” Tibbens told The New York Times. “How do we create an experience for both of them that’s very differentiated from other companies?”

Lyfts former COO, Travis VanderZanden, left the company seven months ago and was accused of stealing trade secrets. He has since begun working at Uber.
