Kendrick Lamar partners with Reebok to surprise runners with performance in the streets of LA
Grammy-award winning artist Kendrick Lamar surprised hundreds of runners in the streets of Hollywood this week with an impromptu set on the back of a custom flatbed truck to promote Reebok’s new ‘ZPump Fusion’ shoe.
Lamar is a brand partner for Reebok and wore the company’s new shoe throughout the performance. He recently released his third studio album ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’, which broke records on Spotify for most streams in a single day.
The sports apparel company is using the hashtag ‘#GETPUMPED’ to showcase its latest footwear.
Todd Krinsky, vice president of Reebok Classic, said: “The Reebok brand is committed to innovation and to being truly ground-breaking. #GETPUMPED sees us fuse music and fitness in a unique and dynamic way. The Reebok ZPump is our biggest product launch in recent history, and Kendrick’s new album is the most talked about release of the year.”
Reebok signed a partnership with the rapper at the end of last year with the aim to inspire and empower young people.
