“We need to get much better at treating our consumers as protagonists in their own story,” stated Nick Vale, global head of planning at Maxus while discussing his thoughts on what he took out of this year’s SXSW festival.

Having previously found himself sitting between a woman speaking with the dead and a man who claimed to have been abducted by aliens, Vale was one of the Maxus team attending the Austin-located festival, to offer their insights on the highlights of the week.

Others featured on the video alongside Vale include business director for Maxus Malaysia, Faraz Khan, senior strategist, Alex Grieves, UK head of planning, Jen Smith, communications planning director for North America, Angela Jones and director of Metalworks by Maxus, Tom Kelshaw who all share their takeaways.

“I was actually hooked up to electrodes so someone else could control parts of by body, I still have scars, that was weird,” admitted Kelshaw as he relayed his experience.

The full video of his takeaways can be viewed above.
