The Weather Channel has named Barbara Agus its global programmatic and yield director as the broadcaster looks to enhance its global advertising offering.

She has joined from the Rubicon Project where she was account director and yield manager.

She will be responsible for defining the global programmatic strategy of The Weather Channel and uncovering growth prospects across Europe, Mexico, Canada and Latin America.

Reporting directly to Ross Webster, managing director for the broadcaster's EMEA regions, Agus will also be responsible for ensuring the company has the right products to take to market, with a particular focus on video and mobile app inventory.

Webster said: “The Weather Channel UK is strengthening its programmatic offering and is making strides to shape relationships in the field. Barbara brings profound programmatic and technical knowledge and will be an invaluable asset to the company. With her experience managing international markets, she will play a key part in the strategic development of the department and positioning us as the right partner for current and future clients.”

Agus has seven years of experience in ad network, sales and operations positions in markets such as Italy and Turkey. Prior to her position at Rubicon Project, she held senior digital and consultancy roles at zanox, Clickpoint, Intela and Aedgency.
