Monopoly and Buzzfeed pass go, collect 4 million votes in Here & Now campaign

Monopoly and Buzzfeed have celebrated the game’s 80th anniversary by releasing the results of its Here & Now campaign, which drew 4 million votes from fans from more than 180 countries.

The campaign asked consumers to vote on their favorite cities. The 22 top US cities, and 22 top global cities will be featured on special editions of the game.

“Inviting our fans to get involved in the creation of the newest Monopoly game was a great way to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the brand,” said Jonathan Berkowitz, vice president of global marketing for gaming at Hasbro. “It was amazing to see both fans and local organizations around the world rally behind their cities and we were wowed by the overwhelming pride people displayed during the Here & Now vote.”

Monopoly Hear & Now games are expected to be released in the fall.
