Wunderman has announced that Chris Perry is to join the agency as its new UK chief executive.

Currently joint chief executive of sister WPP business Fabric, Perry’s appointment follows the recent promotion of Mel Edwards to chief executive EMEA.

Perry is tasked with taking the UK agency forward, focusing on both current clients and leading the agency’s new business drive.

“Wunderman is one of the most well-known data-driven creative agencies not only in the UK but globally. Under Mel’s leadership the agency has gone from strength to strength in the UK and I can’t wait to take on the responsibility of helping drive the business to the next level,” he said.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, beginning as a strategist at Ogilvy & Mather in 1992 before launching DNA in 1996, Perry has built a reputation as a digital entrepreneur.

Edwards added: “Chris has a fantastic pedigree, having worked and run some of the industry’s top agencies. Not only does he bring a new skillset to the business, he’s a really nice guy and I’m looking forward to working with him going forward.”

Perry will report to Edwards, who is also the UK chairman of Wunderman.
