Durex has launched an online campaign urging couples to disconnect from technology to connect with each other in the bedroom.

The #connect campaign follows a spoof announcement from Durex last week when the condom brand announced the imminent launch of new smartphone technology in partnership with Siren Mobile to improve people’s sex lives.

However in an online video released yesterday (11 March), couples who volunteered to test the technology were told the answer to improving their sex life is by switching the off button.

Ukonwa Ojo, head of global brand equity at Durex, said: “This campaign really brings to life what Durex stands for – real connections. As we approach Earth Hour, it is a poignant reminder for us to turn off to turn on.”

Last year Durex released a similar online campaign, #TurnOffToTurnOn, to coincide with Earth Hour, which reached over 1.5 billion people worldwide.
