Heinz pits red and HP sauce lovers against each other to find UK's favourite condiment

Heinz is set to test the nation’s love of its sauces by posing them a question likely to cause division - which is best, red or brown sauce?

The 'Red Vs Brown' campaign, which pits Heinz Tomato Ketchup lovers against fans of HP Sauce, has kicked off with the message being spread on the brands' social media channels.

Morrison’s will host an in-store activation which will include 3D toby boards, front of store displays and point of sale display material to drive involvement.

Furthermore, customers have been encouraged to visit a dedicated Red Vs Brown website to vote on their favourite sauce flavour. The votes will be tracked on a regional map to highlight the divide in popularity across different parts of the UK.

Shane Shortman, senior brand manager of HP Sauce, said: "It has long been a debate at the dinner table but now, we’re set to find out who really comes out on top in the battle of red vs brown."

Chris Isaac, brand manager of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, added: "We are looking forward to the friendly rivalry which will be created from the Red Vs Brown campaign. We have some fantastic prizes for those who take part and we can’t wait to see the results.”

Radio advertising will also run across Absolute Radio, Kiss and Magic stations.
