Samsung US Mobile CMO to leave company next month

Todd Pendleton, who has served as chief marketing officer for Samsung Telecommunications America since 2011, told colleagues that he will be leaving the company in April, people with knowledge of the matter told CNET.

The exec led the “Next Big Thing” campaign for Samsung, which poked fun at Apple products and fans. In 2012, Samsung’s Galaxy S3 phone became the best-selling smartphone in the US for a brief period, beating the iPhone 4S.

However, Samsung has been struggling recently as customers choose Apple, Xiaomi in China, and Micromax India, CNET reports.

On Sunday 1 March, Samsung released it Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which have built-in wireless charging capabilities and fast-charging batteries.
