GoDaddy promotes EVP of digital commerce Phil Bienert to CMO

Domain provider site GoDaddy has promoted Phil Bienert to chief marketing officer (CMO), as former CMO Barb Rechterman steps into the newly created role of chief customer officer.

In his new role, Bienert will be responsible for expanding the GoDaddy brand globally.

Before joining GoDaddy two years ago, he served as senior vice president of consumer digital experience at AT&T. He has also held senior positions at CitiGroup, Volvo, and Ford.

Commenting on his new role Bienert said: “GoDaddy has a tremendous data platform, with an enormous amount of insight into the small business life-cycle which is helping us drive a more personalized marketing experience for customers. We are evolving every day to serve up the right information at the right time to maximize the customer experience.”

In the new role of chief customer officer, Rechterman will be responsible for aligning the company’s products, services, and engagement models with the strategic needs and values of GoDaddy’s customer base.

The company brands itself as a technology provider dedicated to small businesses, with round-the-clock telephone support and consultation.

Rechterman has been with GoDaddy since its founding in 1997. She served as CMO since the position was created nearly 10 years ago.

GoDaddy serves nearly 13 million customers in 37 countries worldwide.
