The Edinburgh Fringe Festival has named Mediacom Edinburgh as it's media planning and buyng agency.
Appointed by the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, the Edinburgh-based media planner and buyer will take over from AKA in servicing the account.
Elizabeth Burchell, head of marketing and sponsorship, commented: “The Fringe Society is an impartial organisation and our role is to promote the festival itself rather than individual shows. We work to attract an audience to the Fringe as an event, once we achieve that individual venues and participants can then pitch the relative merits of their shows.
“Our campaigns embody both the unlimited creativity and sheer fun of the Fringe. So it is great for us to work with an agency who get to see and hear the Fringe for themselves each year and will understand the context in which the campaigns are presented whilst also offering the highest levels of professional support.”
Meanwhile, David Shearer, managing director of MediaCom Edinburgh, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the Edinburgh Festival Fringe account. It is the greatest arts festival in the world and one that means a lot to all of our staff. The opportunity to work with Elizabeth and her team to drive awareness and ticket sales is one we relish”
This year's Edinburgh Festival will take place between 7 - 31 August.
