Mobile software firm Accengage has released its first ever 'Push Notification Performance Benchmark' for iOS and Android devices to aid marketers in their mobile campaigns.
Analysing over five billion push notifications from January to December 2014, the firm found that apps in the classifieds industry have the highest opt-in rate at 63 per cent.
Travel came second at 61 per cent, followed by telecommunications and media tied at 49 per cent. FMCG performed the poorest with a moderate 30 per cent opt-in rate.
Jérôme Stioui, chief executive of Accengage, said: "Industries with the highest opt-in rates include apps with strong brand notoriety, great quality of service, and transactional features or time sensitive information justifying the interest of being opt-in to receive push notifications.”
