The Drum has been shortlisted in three categories at this year's British Media Awards, which recognises 'excellence and innovation' across the industry.

Those categories are content team of the year, event of the year for The Drum Live and editorial campaign of the year for our women in digital coverage.

The Drum will be competing against some of the biggest names in media – including the Guardian, BBC and Vice – to take home the awards at the 6 May ceremony in London.

Editor Stephen Lepitak said: "It's great to see the work of The Drum team being recognised with three nominations by the British Media Awards.

"And we are even more pleased to be up against such strong competition and major media brands that demonstrate just how exciting media continues to be in the UK."

Last year The Drum's journalists were named editorial team of the year and content team of the year at the Association of Online Publishers and PPA Digital Awards respectively.

As announced last week, the editorial team has now grown to include two new reporters in New York as The Drum expands its international presence.

The Drum's ongoing campaign to banish the industry's gender gap continues and the one-of-a-kind event, The Drum Live, will return for a third year later in 2015. Once again it will see The Drum team attempt to produce a magazine in a day in front of a live audience.
