Martin Scorsese has given his voice to an inspirational Apple ad touting the iPad as a movie-making tool.

The Oscar-winning director issued the speech to content creators, artists and entertainers in the ad which aired during the Oscars.

The 60 second slot, ‘Make a Film with iPad’, featured creative students from Los Angeles County High School working on a number of visual projects using the iPad as the movie-making veteran discussed his views on dreams and aspirations.

Scorsese said: “Every step is a first step. Every brush stroke is a test. Every scene is a lesson. Every shot is a school. So let the learning continue.”

The messaged aired during the 87th Academy Awards which saw UK star Eddie Redmayne pick up the best actor award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in ‘The Theory of Everything’.

Last month, Apple's 'Creativity' video was an ad of the day as the firm kicked off its proposition that the tablet can be an aid to movie makers and artists.
