North West Ambulance Service has appointed Weber Shandwick Manchester to deliver an integrated public engagement campaign for its Patient Transport Service.

The agency will not only help to raise awareness of the Patient Transport Service, which is accessed by 1.2million non-emergency patients across the North West each year, but also educate and inform around eligibility criteria.

Jo Leah, managing director of Weber Shandwick Manchester, said: “This is an extremely important service provision for patients across Cumbria, Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire and we will deliver a multi-channel, strategic campaign across these areas for the North West Ambulance Service to help those in need access it.”

Sarah Smith, associate director at North West Ambulance Service said: “The Weber Shandwick team understood the challenges we face and the need to implement a whole systems communication model including social, digital and traditional media as well as face to face engagement.”

The Patient Transport Service campaign runs until March and includes a mix of traditional PR, social media, creative, radio advertising and field marketing.
