FCB Inferno chief creative officer Al Young; co-founder of BMB, Bil Bungay and Abi Ellis, group creative director at DigitasLBi are some of the judges lined up for this year’s Chip Shop Awards.

Heading into its 12th year the Chip Shop Awards, sponsored by Boutique Media, celebrates creativity with no boundaries or rules and is open to all of ad land - whether you’re a student, junior, freelancer or the top creative director.

Joining Young, Bungay and Ellis on the panel are Rapp’s creative director of design, Adrian Whatman; Rick Sear of Ogilvy; BETC executive creative director Rosie Bardales; Vicki Maguire from Grey; Lida’s creative director Nicky Bullard; Andy Bird from Publicis and Cheil’s executive creative director Logan Wilmott.

If that wasn’t enough Toby Horry managing director at Dare; Young Creative Council’s Andy Peel; Tim Clegg creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi X and The Red Brick Road creative director and co-owner Richard Megson will also be casting their expert eyes over this year’s hopefuls.

Of being on the panel, Megson commented: “The Chip Shops award the pure skills of writing and art direction, without the inevitable compromise of working on real businesses with difficult business challenges, it¹s great hunting ground for the wild brains of young talent.”

Sponsor Boutique Media’s managing director, Simon Bollon, added: “As an agency we promise to think intelligently, do things differently and push boundaries, so the notoriously risqué Chip Shop Awards were a pretty obvious collaboration for us. We enjoy working relationships with many creative agencies, so we know what they’re capable of and are excited to see the entries.”

Chip Shop Awards up for grabs include best use of honesty, best ad for something that doesn’t need to be advertised, best rejected concept, best work for a client you have but haven’t a hope in hell of running and best shop window postcard.

The entry deadline for this year’s awards is Thursday 2 April 2015, with no extensions to be given, judging will take place soon afterwards with the winners to be revealed in London in June, date and venue to be confirmed.

The full list of awards categories can be found on the Chip Shop Awards site along with entry information, judges’ bios and ticket information.
