Today Twitter announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Niche, a US start-up providing software, community, and monetisation services for the creative community.

“Niche has been a key partner to both Twitter and Vine over the last year. The company has helped fuel the creator economy by developing leading technology, consisting of free, cross-platform analytics, as well as connecting the creative community directly with the world’s biggest plans,” read the announcement on Twitter’s blog.

Niche is a start-up technology platform “built for creators, by creators” that has offices in New York and San Francisco. Rob Fishman and Darren Lachtman are the co-founders of Niche.

Fishman formerly led social media for The Huffington Post and Aol. His previous company, Kingfish Labs, was acquired in 2012 by Buzzfeed. Lachtman was previously the senior director of business development for Bedrocket Media Ventures.

Twitter said it will share more news about the integration soon.
