Tina Fey is the favourite to take over from Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show after he announced his departure last night.

Bookmaker, Betfair has offered odds of 6/1 on the 30 Rock creator, with John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight second in the odds at 8/1 to take over from Stewart, who is set to step down following the expiry of his contract later this year.

Cormac Dowling from Betfair, commented “It is Saturday Night Live’s Tina Fey that is attracting the most support at 6/1. She is favourite to land the role and provided she avoids any Sarah Palin style gaffes in the next few weeks I think she would be a very popular replacement for Jon Stewart.”

Also in the running are Jessica Williams, Olivia Munn, Amy Poehler and Chris Rock.
