Everyday Health, the digital health and wellness company, has appointed Publicis

global group president, North America of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group, Michael du Toit to the newly created role of president.

He will take on the role with the brief of managing the strategy for the business, which will include product, editorial and sales development, while taking its strategic direction and growth, the company explained.

While at Digitas Health, du Toit founded a number of marketing agencies within the group, including Razorfish Health, Grey Advertising and Venity Health Communications.

Ben Wolin, chief executive and co-founder of Everyday Health, described du Toit as “a true business-builder” and added that the company was confident that he would help facilitate the continued growth of its business.

"I am honored to join Everyday Health and believe it has a unique set of capabilities and assets – including great people, content and data capabilities, and unique and innovative ROI-based sales solutions – to win in the marketplace," said du Toit, "I see great opportunities across the dynamic digital health landscape to further expand".

The appointment followed the decision of the company’s chief operating officer, Paul Slavin, to depart, although he will remain involved as a consultant.
