Oban Digital is to open its first offices in America with founding clients such as MSN, Dell, Reader's Digest, Marriott and ASUS.

The agency will be based in New York with the aim of helping retailers and marketers achieve local Ecommerce success and will be led by Trina Hymes, who has joined in the newly created position of Vice President of US Sales.

The company is already active in over 30 countries as it aims to help retailers drive traffic and create campaigns through local insights.

Greig Holbrook, founder and managing director of Oban Digital, explained: "Ecommerce sales worldwide are predicted to grow to over $2.3trn in the next three years. A recent Oban Digital survey found that 67 per cent of businesses claim internationalization is a key part of their growth strategy but that only 20 per cent of businesses have all their current communications adapted for local culture or language.

"If US Ecommerce companies and brands are to compete in the growing global market they need to learn how each local market functions differently from the next. There is no one-size-fits-all solution," he added.

The Drum named Oban Digital as an Agency to Watch in its New Year's Honours for 2015.
