Ad agency, 180, announced today that it has hired Mike Harris to fill a newly created position, global chief strategy officer.

The agency, which has offices in both Amsterdam and Los Angeles said in a release that Harris will work with both offices and drive new business growth as well as tackle high-level strategic opportunities.

“There isn’t an agency or brand in the world that wouldn’t benefit from the strategic and creative thinking of Mike Harris,” said 180 global chief executive officer, Michael Allen. “We’re lucky to have him onboard.”

Before joining 180, Harris worked as the president of creative advertising services at Deluxe Entertainment. He also served as president and chief for DDB California.

Harris said he was looking forward to bringing his experience to 180 and being a part of what the agency has to offer.

"They know who they are and what they stand for, and I have always admired the work that 180 does and the agency’s people and culture,” says he said. “I’ve wanted to be part of that for a long time.”

Under 180, Harris can expect to work with a wide range of clients including HP, Qatar Airways, PlayStation and Mitsubishi.
