Britvic chief executive Simon Litherland has been named by ISBA as its new president.

Litherland succeeds Coca-Cola GB and Ireland general manager Jon Woods and will chair the ISBA Council.

Litherland expressed his delight in taking the role of championing the interests of UK advertisers: "As a significant advertiser, I appreciate only too well the value that ISBA brings to our business, on the regulatory, media and capability fronts, enabling us to extract maximum value from our marcoms spend.

"This election year doubtless holds a few surprises and I look forward to working with the ISBA team to ensure that the interests of advertisers are safeguarded," he added.

Litherland, who has held the role of chief executive of Britvic since February 2013, will address the ISBA annual conference on 11 March.
