Facebook, Nasdaq, and the International Advertising Bureau (IAB) announced today that they will partner with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to host a full-day conference dedicated to mobile marketing and advertising.

This is the first time the conference will approach this topic having previously focused solely on technology. The invitation-only event will explore “the finest work in mobile advertising and examine new trends and technologies that are destined to influence the mobile landscape in years to come," it was explained in a statement.

“The growth of mobile has completely shifted the way that companies need to approach their marketing strategies,” said Sarah Personette, Facebook’s head of global business marketing. “Advertising can now be tailored to reach real people around the world with tailored messaging, transforming what was once a mass media approach into ‘people-based marketing.”

The conference will take place at the Fira Gran Via early this March.
