Health food retailer Holland & Barrett has launched a new £600,000 advertising campaign in the run up to Valentine’s Day, for its Horny Goat Weed range of sexual wellbeing supplements.

Created by RKCR/Y&R, the animated TV spot, which airs from today, follows the brand’s 'good life' positioning, and is intended to tell consumers about the variety of products on sale at Holland & Barrett, according to chief marketing officer Lysa Hardy.

“One of the themes that keeps coming through in all our research is that Holland & Barrett provides products that you simply can’t find anywhere else”, said Hardy.

“Horny Goat Weed is one of the more memorable products in our sexual wellbeing category, and we hope it will gain customers’ attention to make them reconsider what Holland & Barrett is about and how we can help them with their health and wellbeing".

Recent campaigns for Holland & Barrett have included promoting other unusual products including Snail Gel, to help attracted a younger generation of consumers.

The new Horny Goat Weed campaign will run for three weeks with print and digital display executions running up to 14 February to coincide with Valentine’s Day.

A second TV and print execution featuring a weight loss tea called Bootea will run in tandem with the Horny Goat Weed creative throughout the remainder of January and February 2015.
