Starbucks patrons will be soon be able to charge up their phone battery alongside their own batteries whilst supping their morning coffee as the US chain begins rolling out wireless charging points throughout its UK stores.

Beginning in London the programme follows a successful partnership with wireless charging provider Powermat across the pond, for those lacking a compatible device salvation is at hand as well as the coffee chain will make available a range of adaptors for a variety of phones and tablets.

These will be made available free of charge for the time being but will also be available to purchase for a one off fee of £10 for regular customers.

Thus far ten Starbucks cafes in central London have been fitted out with the technology with no word on when this might be extended.
