Fox News issues on-air apology after guest described Birmingham a ‘Muslim-only city’

Fox News has apologised, not once, not twice but four times after it became the subject of ridicule when a guest ‘terrorism analyst’ said that Birmingham was a city where ‘non-Muslim’s just simply don’t go in’.

Steven Emerson subsequently apologised for the remark but now the broadcaster has too with Fox Report anchor Julie Banderas saying: “There is no formal designation of these zones in [France or the United Kingdom] and no credible information to support the assertion there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion.”

An apology was also forthcoming from Jeanine Pirro, host of Justice with Judge Jeannie, who said: “A guest made a serious factual error that we wrongly let stand unchallenged and uncorrected.”

The claim sparked outrage in the UK with even the prime minister weighing in to describe Steven Emerson as a 'complete idiot'.
