Jose Cuervo Especial is celebrating the life of its brand, by releasing “Day of the Dead” themed bottles.
The tequila company, which has been around for more than 200 years, will aim to go back to its Mexican roots in commemoration.
The limited-edition bottles have been created in either gold or silver metallic which both feature a skull.
The promotional campaign has been handled by McCann New York which chose to utilize social media on behalf of Cuervo. Over the past week, the brand has released “sneak-peak” images of the bottles on its Instagram account.
Short teaser videos have also been made available to audiences and shared through Twitter and Facebook.
On 15 January, McCann released a short animation, directed by Andy Hall, that highlights the intensity of the campaign. In the forefront of a dark, broody soundtrack, the video features a man creating the bottles out of gold bars beneath the Cuervo distillery.
The 750 ml bottles will be available for sale within the United States at a suggested price of $2,250.
