Over the years the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has showcased emerging technology that someday hopes to change the world. Since its humble beginnings in 1967 VCRs, CD Players, the Sony Walkman and the Xbox all made their debut at the trade show.

With CES 2015 drawing to a close we’ve taken a look at some of the best tweets coming out of this year’s conference.

Samsung racked up an impressive 18,643 mentions, according to analysis from Hotwire, helped in part to the debut of a massive 110 inch 8K television screen. Tweeters at the conference went mad for its clarity and detail though some questioned the need for 8K when 4K is only just breaking through.

Audi also generated an impressive number of tweets during CES 2015 (3,966 according to Hotwire) with the car manufacturer’s A7 driverless car generating the most chatter as it drove 550 miles itself to the conference in Las Vegas.

LG sparked conversation with not one but two products at this year’s show, notching up and impressive 3,758 tweets along the way. The LG G Watch R and the Flex 2 got visitors talking on social media.

Sony was tweeted about over 2,000 times during the event with its 4K Action Cam gathering interest. Not only is the camera light, weatherproof and durable it captures 4K video and features image stabilisation to appease the drone crowd.

Speaking of drones the Bionic Bird was a favourite at CES. Featuring a radio inside the Bionic Bird can be controlled via a smartphone and reportedly unlike similar inventions of its ilk flies well outdoors.

Trend wise at this year’s CES 4K was the hot topic with Hotwire recording some 15,912 tweets about the technology. TV manufactures from Samsung to Sony to LG and all that’s in between showed off some sort of 4K screen.

It probably comes as no surprise that the number two trend from CES this year is wearables with an impressive 3,998 mentions. From ODG Smart Glasses to numerous watch offerings wearables were big news.

Rounding out the top three CES 2015 trends in terms of mentions was the internet of things with a plethora of connected devices on show in the Nevada desert.

Throughout CES 2015 AKQA’s Christopher Marsh has been keeping The Drum up to date with his top new tech from the show. Catch up with his posts (day one, day two, day three) featuring connected sports bras, driverless cars and the latest in 3D printing.
