Royal Mail has created five Vine videos to support the launch of its 2014 Christmas stamps, using animation to bring to life the static images.

The Vine videos re-create festive activities including ice skating, carol singing, writing to Santa, buying a tree and building a snowman.

Head of marketing at Royal Mail, Fraser Chisholm, said: “We wanted to bring the stamps to life and make them appeal to a younger generation. Vine is a very fun and visual platform and we wanted to show that stamps are fun and not just for collectors.” The series, designed by Andrew Bannecker and animated by Onlinefire, uses layered files to make the characters move, sing and walk, while looping round in six-second bursts.
