Thameslink and Great Northern train operating companies update brand world with SomeOne
Thameslink and Great Northern train operating companies have revealed updated branding following the rebrand of the South Eastern network.
Created by SomeOne, the identity has been specifically designed to make the most of the future of the GTR (Govia Thameslink Railway) network, highlighting a new direction – and new connections – while at the same time being considerate of past franchises (the GTR network includes Thameslink, and Great Northern as well as Southern and Gatwick Express).
Katy Taylor, group marketing director at GTR, praised the new look for translating “smoothly across the inherited estate of the previous franchise”.
“The brand feels fresh and new, which demonstrates our commitment to bringing new life to the Thameslink and Great Northern train lines,” she added.
The colours used have been carefully chosen to help aid the link between the two and also fitting in with the colour of previous branded rolling stock, saving time and cost to repaint the fleet.
The overarching customer benefit of the ‘helping hand’, which currently features on the South Eastern network, has been rolled out. A ‘brand world’ approach has been taken by the design agency to ensure that the logo forms just part of the overall branding.
