The elves at the North Pole are feeling the effects of Acer and Intel’s holiday offer at Best Buy if this ad spot from Amsterdam Worldwide is to be believed.

The promotion for the Acer Iconia Tab 8 deal shows how the elves are passing their time now that far fewer Christmas orders than usual have been placed.

Running across a wide range of digital media in the US, the campaign aims to target families and young adults interested in purchasing a tablet over the Christmas holidays. Video and banner ads spanning news, shopping, lifestyle and enthusiast websites will push the message out further. In addition, the tablet will feature on in-store video walls and at point of sale in Best Buy stores, as well as in video and display ads on BestBuy.com.

Richard Black, senior director of marketing, Acer America, said the campaign “accomplishes something very important during the hectic holiday season – it provides our customers with an excellent deal and we hope it gives them a laugh”.

Global account manager for Intel’s partner marketing group, Johan Koning, added: “Intel and Acer wanted our breakthrough campaign to deliver some holiday joy and generate interest in this fantastic tablet. We think our elves campaign delivered.”

Acer America is running supporting activity on its social media channels as well.
