Free Radio brings Noddy Holder on board for Christmas marketing push
Free Radio has teamed with Slade’s Noddy Holder for a Christmas marketing drive which will see the singer and guitarist dubbed the station’s Voice of Christmas.
As part of the partnership Holder will appear across station branding and in novel custom song intros. The imaging will be extended in to a special show entitled When Santa Met Noddy, which will be aired on Free Radio on Christmas Day.
The agreement means that Holder will feature across the Free Radio network, including the new Free Radio Christmas station – formerly Free Radio 80s – which has been renamed for the festive period until Boxing Day.
David Salt, programme director at Free Radio, said: “Branding radio stations is about being distinctive. Noddy’s voice is instantly recognizable and his irreverence is utterly in tune with our ‘never a dull moment’ brand values”.
Free Radio broadcasts across Birmingham and Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, and Shropshire, and is available on AM, DAB and online.
