Minecraft blocks out rivals as top selling iPad and iPhone app
Minecraft has topped Apple’s ‘Best of 2014’ list as the most paid for app on the iPad and iPhone.

Retailing for £4.99 – a high price considering it is largely competing with free titles - it trumped Football Manager 2014, Plague Inc and Cut the Rope 2 to the top spot.
Meanwhile, Candy Crush Saga, which Tory MP Nigel Mills was caught playing in parliament on Monday, was the highest grossing title bringing in substantial revenue as a free-to-download title with in-game purchases.
Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp and Snapchat were the top free apps on iPhone with Skype, Facebook Messenger and Netflix taking the top spots on the iPad.
Earlier this year, Microsoft saw the great value in Minecraft, purchasing developer studio Mojang for $2.5bn.
