Most recently managing director of TBWA's Digital Arts Network China, Lin will help lead the new regional headquarters in Shanghai when the open at the beginning on 2015.

Of the move, and opening the Chinese office, Lin said: “This isn’t a question of simply inserting a foreign agency model into China; that’s been commoditised and done to death. Rather, we are working to advance a more modern marketing approach with our clients in China to help them grow - both domestically and internationally. I don’t think we could have scripted this any better.”

Also joining the agency is Jonathan Ip, who has been named partner and chief commercial officer of KBS China.

Ip most recently served as digital executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi, Greater China.

“As China’s consumers evolve, there is an ever growing desire and appetite to experience new things; this changing consumer behavior drives brands and services to innovate,” Ip said. “With invention at the core of KBS’s culture, this is the right timing for us to present innovative marketing solutions and build genuine yet unique connections between brands and consumers here in China.”

The pair will work alongside Lori Senecal, global executive chairman of KBS, to build the agency’s offering in the Chinese market.
