US sandwich bar chain Arby’s has apologised to soft drink giant Pepsi after it inadvertently ‘forgot’ to namecheck the brand in its advert… which it is contractually obliged to do.

With Pepsi execs fizzing at the oversight Arby’s opted to air a touching 30 second clip of affection to their partner, displaying nothing but a chilled glass of their favourite drink and replacing its ‘We have the meats’ tagline with ‘We have Pepsi’.

During this a narrator intones that Arby’s: “… messed up and forgot about the second commercial. So here it is. Pepsi. Cool, refreshing and goes great with Arby's sandwiches and other Arby's foods.”

Arby’s decision to raise a glass to their soft drink friends seems to have hit a sweet spot with Youtube viewers, racking up over 1.2m hits.
