Powwownow has handed its £3m advertising account to Hometown.

The account has been awarded to Hometown following a three-way-pitch, with the company aiming to take on growing competition from various app-based services.

Jason Downes, general manager of Powwownow, commented; “Powwownow places real importance in our outdoor creative media campaigns. We have ambitious growth plans, with the aim of doubling our business in the next four years, so it was essential we appointed an agency that understood our cultural fit. Hometown demonstrated a fantastic understanding of a modern audience and strong passion for our brand; we’re looking forward to working with them.”

Simon Labbett, founder and creative director of Hometown, added: “Powwownow isn’t a brand that wants to live in the shadows, so it’s going to be a lot of fun working with them. Our main aim is to deliver a fantastic campaign that will bring exceptional results.”

The first campaign is expected to roll out from January 2015.
