Cannes Lions turns to McCann London for 2015 awareness raising campaign

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity has chosen McCann London as it's lead creative agency ahead of promoting next year's event in the South of France.

With acceptance for award entries to next year's festival understood to have closed at the end of November, McCann London has now been tasked with the brief of raising the profile of the festival amongst the creative community.

The next festival is set to acknowledge the role being played by data, technology and idea through the introduction of the Lions Innovation category.

Philip Thomas, CEO of Lions Festivals, said: “After a very successful collaboration with McCann in 2014, we’re excited to work on a campaign that gets across what Cannes Lions is all about: connecting people with a shared mission to make the industry, and the work, better. McCann shares that vision which makes them the ideal agency partners.”

Earlier this year, McCann london developed a print campaign to promote the 2014 awards, shot by Max Oppenheim (see gallery.)
