YO! Sushi has joined forces with Disney UK to create six children’s bento box meals inspired by forthcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios release Big Hero 6.

A national advertising campaign spanning TV, digital, PR, social media and point of sale will promote the co-branded collaboration which was developed by YO! Sushi and Disneymedia+, the integrated ad sales, promotions and marketing solutions arm of Disney UK & Ireland.

Grahan Hawkey-Smith of YO! Sushi said the restaurant chain was delighted to be working with Disney to bring “a new generation of YO! Sushi fans into our restaurants”.

“Big Hero 6 has so many wonderful links back to our brand it was great fun for our executive chef, Mike Lewis, to create six bento box meals inspired by the film...We look forward to adding to filmgoers’ Big Hero 6 experience at their nearest YO! Sushi.”

Anna Hill, chief marketing officer, The Walt Disney Company UK& Ireland, commented that the collaboration was a “great example” of the campaigns Disneymedia+ can create ahead of film releases.

Customers will also be offered the chance to win a host of Big Hero 6 merchandise as part of the wider campaign including a holiday to Japan.

The bento box meals will be available from early January 2015 with Big Hero 6 hitting UK cinemas on 30 January 2015.
