Samsung’s global marketing boss for mobile set to leave as part of management shake-up

Samsung’s head of sales and marketing for the mobile unit, DJ Lee, is set to leave the business, according to reports.

This comes in the midst of a series of changes in the management team, which are rumoured to see Hong Won-pyo, currently president and head of Samsung’s Media Solution Center, become president and head of the company’s global marketing strategy office.

The company has stated that Samsung Electronics’ mobile business head, J.K. Shin, will maintain his current role, along with the chief of the company’s consumer electronics unit, B.K. Yoon, and the current chief executive for the component business, Kwon Oh-hyun.

The division’s global operations head Kim Jae-kwon, and Chul-Hwan Lee, president of the mobile communications business in charge of mobile R&D, were relieved because of the poor performance of the mobile communications business.

Samsung SDI president and energy solution division head Park Sang-jin has been promoted to president of public relations of Samsung Electronics.
