Young Innovator Nominee: Cooper Harris, Klickly

December 1, 2014 | 3 min read

Cooper Harris

Current gig: CEO and founder, Klickly

Why she is nominated: Cooper Harris is the CEO and founder of Klickly, a "smart" AI-powered buy-button technology. Klickly enables customers to instantly purchase (or donate to/sign up for) products they see online, wherever they see them – directly within ads, emails, and social – without navigating away from their content.

Former-actress-turned-technologist, Cooper Harris, is emerging as a pivotal figure in the Los Angeles’ Silicon Beach tech scene, leading the charge for women in tech and pushing the boundaries of technical innovation. After four years of acting full-time in film and TV, Cooper developed an interest in entrepreneurship – when not on set, Cooper started her first company which created and sold award-winning digital content to companies including Post It Notes, 3M, Kimberly Clark, DailyMotion, and studio production giant, Endemol. Shortly thereafter, Cooper began sneaking off on weekends to compete in Hackathons and taught herself how to code, eventually becoming one of the first females to win the Los Angeles AT&T Hackathon.

Klickly was born out of the struggle to buy a pair of shoes from an ad on her phone (while driving). After 15 taps, scrolls, swipes and more than 10 minutes, she found herself struggling to give this shoe company her money. Why would anyone make it this difficult to make a purchase? She thought: there has to be a better way. In the past 12+ months, Cooper has grown Klickly's "smart" buy button from little more than an idea to a burgeoning tech startup. She has amassed an impressive team of serial entrepreneurs, PhDs, and full-stack developers from top companies. Industry experts are saying Klickly is "the holy grail of advertising" (Alex Boyce, former CSO Woven Digital), “revolutionizing how things are purchased" (Dave Perry, Adobe) and "a no-brainer for any DR company (Andy Dhanik, Engage BDR). Cooper is leading her team in changing the way advertising and commerce happen.

Her speaking invitations, presentations and nominations have resulted in conversations and partnerships with major players in both technology and advertising, and Klickly is well on its way to transforming digital commerce on a global scale.

Klickly's Traction:

  • Grown distribution from 20 sites to millions (in 6 months).
  • Currently outperforming industry standard by 5-10x
  • 1 of 4 US companies showcased by Google Zoo, R/GA at Cannes Lions 2016
  • Winner of Consumer Technology Association 2016 startup award!
