Diana Tickell, the former executive director of marketing of Barnardo’s, has joined the National Advertising Benevolent Society (Nabs) as its new chief executive.

Diana Tickell, will take up the role in 2015

Tickell will draw on her experience in various strategy and communication roles within Barnardo’s over the last decade to replace Zoë Osmond, who left the position in October to join Oystercatchers.

She will take up the role in February 2015 and will be supported by Charlie Parkin who will become the director of media relations.

Ian Pearman, the chief executive of AMV BBDO and chairman of Nabs, said: “The CEO of Nabs has to handle an incredibly broad brief and Diana brings huge experience and great strategic nous to the role. Along with Charlie continuing the great progress Nabs has made building relations with the media sector, we have a dream team in place with all the necessary skills needed to address the challenges ahead.”

On her appointment, Tickell said: “Having worked for many years in agencies and subsequently as a charity director I am really excited to be able to bring together my overall experience in this leadership role at Nabs.

“I am looking forward to building on the significant developments made by Nabs in recent years in supporting those in the industry to thrive in their roles today and realise their work potential.”

Before Barnardo’s, Tickell spent a decade in the agency business, working for the likes of Brann, Osprey and Lion.
