LinkedIn’s Most Engaged Marketers 2014: Xchanging, SMG, and Coca-Cola Enterprises top the list

Coca-Cola Enterprises, media agency Starcom Mediavest (SMG) and Xchanging have come top of LinkedIn's most engaging marketers on the professional social network.

The LinkedIn 'Most Engaged Marketers 2014' competition highlighted the UK marketers using the platform to their best advantage, not only for their personal brand, but also as an extension of their organisation.

Gareth Case, global marketing director of Xchanging topped the rankings, he said: “LinkedIn is an invaluable tool for me in my role. I use it to leverage marketing and industry insights as well as distributing my own thought leadership pieces on B2B marketing."

He concluded that the platform helped direct over 400,000 views to his blog in the past 18 months with its recently released blogging tools.

Runner up Frank Durrell, digital and technology director at SMG, said: “I’ve also improved client relationships by being able to understand clients backgrounds, common contacts or interests, even things like birthdays that they may not have shared with us but did update into their LinkedIn profile, allowing us to offer some lovely surprise and delight.

“I use many aspects of LinkedIn to ensure my organisation is best equipped to engage clients and our sector.”

Simon Miles, digital director at Coca-Cola Enterprises came finished in third place, he said: “I use LinkedIn to keep up to date on the latest thinking in leadership, marketing and digital issues.

“I find it's an excellent resource for new ideas and inspiration, as well as showing our key contacts what we’re up to by sharing newsworthy developments and thought leadership articles.”

On this year’s Most Engaged Marketers rankings, Josh Graff, director of Marketing Solutions EMEA at LinkedIn, added: “We’re thrilled to see marketers from such a wide range of industry sectors make LinkedIn’s Most Engaged Marketers list in 2014.
