AEG-owned venue The O2 has inked a three-year partnership with social planning app YPlan, which will see the app become the venue’s official “going out partner”.

The partnership will offer customers at The O2 an alternative platform to purchase tickets via the YPlan app, which displays a list of curated events available on the night and up to a fortnight in advance.

Rebecca Kane, general manager of The O2 said: "When you see an event you want to go on the night or up to a fortnight in advance, YPlan lets you book in just two taps. It’s as quick and simple as that.

“We want to make sure our customers can access tickets in as many ways as possible in addition to our AXS.com ticketing site, and the YPlan app is perfect for this.”

The deal was negotiated by AEG Global Partnerships, the sponsorship division of AEG and will include access to events at a range of AEG venues including The O2, The SSE Arena Wembley and Brooklyn Bowl.

YPlan is currently available for residents of London, New York and San Francisco.
