Coca-Cola has appointed MediaCom to its $100m (£62.5m) media account in Mexico.

The win by MediaCom comes a year after it was appointed to handle the UK media planning and buying account for the drinks brand, worth an estimated £30m.

The Mexican account was previously held by Starcom MediaVest Group for a decade.

In July, Coca-Cola said it would invest $8.2bn (£5bn) in the Mexican economy by 2020.

Francisco Crespo, president of Coca-Cola Mexico, said at the time: “This investment is our way of promoting economic growth and the sustainable development of the country, while we continue to support the creation of strategies to promote the integral well-being of the population."
