McCann Worldgroup has promoted Adrian Botan to the role of global executive creative director for its Nestle account, a role reserved for the agency’s largest global clients.

Botan will continue to serve as creative chairman of McCann Bucharest where he has built his reputation throughout central and eastern Europe.

Rob Reilly, global creative chairman, McCann Worldgroup, said: “Adrian is one of our smartest, most innovative creative thinkers,” said. “All of his work shows his special ability to create the most creative work for his biggest clients, which is the reason we are bringing him on to our global creative leadership team. I cannot wait to see what Adrian does next. That’s the best compliment I can give to a fellow creative.”

Botan was the first creative director from the region to bag a Cannes Grand Prix back in 2011, winning out in the Direct Lions and Promo & Activation categories for Romanian chocolate bar ROM.
